Fantastic news!!! Usborne have bought my new book, BUTTERFLY SUMMER. It will be published in the Summer of 2012 and it’s not connected to the STARMAKERS series. It’s about obsessive friendship, family secrets and a promise that can’t be kept. I’ve only just started writing but it’s going well! Watch this space for more developments!!!

Last Wednesday I had the most fantastic visit to Martin Primary school just up the road from where I live. I knew so many of the children and Pat Bulman the Literacy Coordinator couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. After four lively drama sessions and an assembly to all of KS2 I sat out in the winter sunshine to sell books. Let’s just say, it didn’t take long to sell out and I am returning tomorrow with the extra copies I had to order to meet the demand! Thank you to everyone there for making it such a lovely day.
P.S Really liked some of the childrens’ names too – for future characters….Roman, Lavina – you know who I’m talking about!

Monday October 4th
I had a great time today meeting children from Maple Grove Primary School in Hemel Hemsptead. We talked about writing and performing and they all had a go at writing a brilliant first line. This was my favourite:

Friday 27th August
I was in Waterstone’s today in North Finchley buying a pressie for someone and there it was! Phoebe - on the shelves! (well a few Phoebies actually) I got very excited and told anyone who would listen that I was the author and then the sales assistant asked me to sign all the copies (I kid you not) and she stuck big ‘author signed copies’ stickers on the front and displayed them in a much better place (by this point I was practically delirious with excitement) and then she ordered loads more!!! It’s been a long time coming but definitely worth the wait!
Saturday 17th July at the BIG GREEN BOOK SHOP
The launch was absolutely fantastic. I have never enjoyed myself so much – seriously. There was loads of champagne and the most fantastic cake which had the front cover of Phoebe iced on top. Loads of my friends and family were there and some really lovely people from Usborne too. Talk about dreams come true!!!
